Calculates the volume of screed mix required for a floor layer.
The floor screed calculator works out the volume and weight of cement-sand mortar needed to level a base. It helps you estimate the number of bags of ready-mix or the components for mixing your own.
Mortar volume (m³) = area × screed thickness (in m) Mass = volume × density (~1,800 kg/m³) Ready-mix at 1.8 t/m³ → about 90 kg of mix per m² at a 5 cm thickness.
A 40 m² flat, average screed thickness 5 cm = 0.05 m. Volume = 40 × 0.05 = 2 m³. Mass = 2 × 1,800 = 3,600 kg ≈ 144 bags of 25 kg.
