What is it?

The recipe cost calculator finds the cost per serving of a dish by dividing the total ingredient cost by the number of servings.

Formula

Ingredient cost = (Quantity used / Pack size) × Pack price Total recipe cost = Σ all ingredient costs Cost per serving = Total recipe cost / Servings

Example

Pasta 400 g ($1.20/kg pack) = $0.48. Sauce 300 ml ($2.50/700 ml jar) = $1.07. Cheese 80 g ($8.00/250 g block) = $2.56. Total = $4.11 for 4 servings → $1.03/serving.
