Geotextile Calculator — Free Online Calculator

Calculates the area of geotextile fabric required for a project.

What is it?

The geotextile calculator works out the area and the number of rolls, allowing for overlap, for drainage systems, fill layers and raised beds.

Formula

Strips = ⌈plot width / (roll width − overlap)⌉ Area = strips × roll width × length Rolls = ⌈area / (roll width × roll length)⌉

Example

Plot 20 × 10 m, roll 1.6 × 50 m, overlap 0.2 m. Strips: ⌈10 / (1.6 − 0.2)⌉ = 8. Area: 8 × 1.6 × 20 = 256 m². Rolls: ⌈256 / 80⌉ = 4.
