Rows = deck width / (board width + gap) Linear metres = rows × length × (1 + waste %) Boards = ⌈linear metres / board length⌉
Deck 5 × 4 m, board 140 × 50 mm, gap 5 mm, 10% waste. Rows: 4 / 0.145 ≈ 28. Linear metres: 28 × 5 × 1.1 = 154.0. Boards: ⌈154 / 3⌉ = 52.
